SEAN JOINS AS DIGITAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

2025 has been a hell of a year for Freedom Media Group as we’ve seen incredible growth across our entire business.

One of the things that has grown this year is our team, with two new exciting additions. We have already introduced you to Jo, but now it's Sean's time to shine.

Joining as our new digital specialist, you can find out more about him, and what he’s getting up to below. 

What is your main role is at FMG and what you are excited to get your teeth stuck into

I'm joining FMG to help elevate the digital offering to a new level. Myself & Dan had a lot of great conversations about how the industry is moving, and what it takes for an agency to grow in the current climate. Agencies that move quickly, are agile, and jump on emerging products & trends before competitors are those that will have the edge, while those stuck doing things in the same old way are really going to struggle. From our first chat I got the sense that FMG are brave enough to do things their own way, and that's something I can't wait to be a part of!

 

Why are you excited to work at FMG 

 I’ve worked in big agencies and - while it’s great to be part of such a network - it can mean the pace of adapting to the changing digital environment is slow. FMG has a completely different energy. Not only is it fast and fluid in responding to the market, but what has really stood out to me is how they really do put the client at the centre of every conversation. That combination gives the agency a real edge. It might sound like those are the basics, but in environments where processes and politics get in the way, performance is hindered. At FMG, the mindset is simple: look after clients, do world class work, keep improving. It’s honest, simple, and it works.  


Tell us a bit about your background 

I’ve spent the last seven years working across performance marketing and cross channel strategy for various Manchester and Leeds-based agencies. Most recently, I’ve held the position of Strategy Associate Director at McCann, working with a mix of brands including Aldi, English National Opera, and Roxy Ballroom to shape planning approaches across digital and offline media. I also worked in-house for a health tech brand during the pandemic, which gave me a good understanding of what clients really need from a digital partner. The common theme throughout my career has been keeping things practical and keeping clients at the heart of the work.


Tell us a bit about you in general - any hobbies or party tricks?

I’m from Stockport, so it’s nice to be working closer to home with FMG. Football is a big part of my life; I play 5-a-side and I’m a Man City season ticket holder. I also love cricket, but the less said about England’s performance at The Ashes while I write this, the better! Outside of sports, I’m a big music fan and always have a gig lined up, I also have a puppy who takes a lot of my attention, and I’ve recently gotten engaged, so me and my partner Sophie are in the midst of wedding planning! My party trick is a secret game called Clickies… I can’t say anything more about it, so I will have to wait for the FMG Christmas party!
