This is the latest updates from world of digital media and marketing

We’re back with the next Freedom Digital News keeping you up to date with the key changes going on in the digital landscape that help develop your business further online.

(1) Google launches AI shopping tools

Google is stepping up its online shopping experience with new AI-powered features designed to help users feel more confident before they buy. This has come to the market with the launch of virtual try-ons and smarter price alerts.

Using AI, shoppers can now virtually try on clothes, showing them how items look on a wide range of body types. This creates a more personal and useful shopping journey, especially for fashion brands trying to reduce friction in the buying process and lowering returns.

Additionally, smarter price tracking means users can now set alerts for products they’re interested in, and Google will notify them of price drops (and we all love a bargain!). These tools not only improve user trust but also provide a richer shopping experience that leads to higher-quality traffic and conversions.

We’ll help you align your Google Shopping campaigns to take full advantage of this smarter ecosystem, ensuring your products are front and centre when intent is highest.

(2) Google AI Overviews Are Hurting Clicks, Says Pew Study

A new study from Pew Research found that Google’s AI-generated overviews, which show summarised answers at the top of search results, are significantly reducing the number of clicks to actual websites and ultimately changing how to measure performance of your website.

In short, Google is answering user queries before they even click a link as they are providing a new search engine results page with AI and typically providing 3 key options for users. This ultimately leads to less interaction to the overall Google platform and the other links on the page with people finding a more robust answer to their question.

This is a big change for SEO. It means your brand needs to focus less on generic content and more on unique value and what makes your business stand so that you can earn clicks from information that is written with strong perspectives and in-depth insights about the area and industry you operate in.

We like to keep on top of these changes so are monitoring closely. Our SEO team can help you adjust your content strategy so that it thrives in this evolving environment. That means more authority, better engagement, and visibility that’s built to last.

(3) Snapchat Ads deliver stronger performance

New research from Snapchat demonstrates that their advertisements are yielding significant results for brands, both in terms of revenue growth and return on ad spend.

The comprehensive study, commissioned by Snapchat and executed by Triple Whale, analysed the performance of 20,000 e-commerce advertisers, collectively investing over £2 billion in ad spend across various platforms. The findings showed that Snapchat delivered a 7.5% improvement in Return on Ad Spend (ROAS). This compelling data underscores Snapchat's ability to provide a superior return on investment, even as a comparatively smaller platform in terms of overall reach.

The research also highlighted that apparel advertisers, in particular, witnessed the highest ROAS on Snapchat, largely attributed to the platform's emphasis on engaging visual storytelling. This indicates that brands investing in Snapchat are seeing strong performance, and this is thanks to the platform’s predominantly younger user base along with enhanced targeting tools in the platform.

This is a key channel for growing brands who want to reach new audiences in a more playful and visual format. At Freedom, we help you build a creative that’s native to the platform, ensuring your campaigns resonate and convert.

(4) X (formerly Twitter) improves tracking options
